"Ba't di ka nag auautocad?"
"Ba't di ka nag auautocad?"
it's great.
after seeing autocad architecture doing what revit does but for architectural drafting, we all want to find the workflow that works for us.
especially working with multiple software, kinda hassle. annual subscriptions and licenses are expensive, and yeah i guess we started with cracked, student, trial versions, or portable software with shared licenses.
i have a productive laziness. that's why my drawing subjects in school were always 75 or less. XD

Q "Parang laro lang yang sketchup eh. Cartoon"
A "okay lang, i'm not after cg. as long as it's delivered fast, communicated well, and built properly, your 10 hour work can be reduced to 30 minutes."
--
Q "You won't get hired abroad. Revit, max, archicad standards."
A "I'm not looking to get hired abroad. but i tried those software too, they're all great. BIM is great. Uvmapping and archviz gaming too."
--
Q "Buti yan computer age na tau, mabilis lahat."
A "If you're troubleshooting in the construction site, manual drafting with pen and paper is still faster. but 3d modelling to 2d plans will give you some of the actual feel when you're off-site"
--
Q "Parender, Pagawa bahay, Pasupervise"
A "Drafting services ok. But design and new construction, go through legal means especially when getting building permit, sign and seal. #GETANARCHITECTFIRST, he/she will lead you through the processes that include engineering, interior design, and the allied professions. There are laws and ordinances to confer to and abide with, even if it's just the chambers of your septic tank. It's not about beauty and strength alone, also the function and convenience of your lifestyle in that built and open environment."
--
Q "Why do you have to 3d-2d when you can do 2d and just 3d for rendering"
A "Why do you think the only one who needs the drawings is the contractor? And he'll spend his laway explaining paragraphs, drawing on the air, and writing on the soil? Even your painters and carpenters need a reference. The more understandable, the faster, cost-saving, serves both the house owner and the contractor. And you can post it in instagram and look back and say 'ooh i was so lazy that day but i feel productive'. Be it 20 revisions, you still only have 1 3d model to move."
--
Q "Why you posting these questions. Who's asking"
A "XD I can't respond to all message requests sorry. And if it's just about the software, i'll post. Vray isn't my forte, Rendering either, Sketchup is just really a hobby first that can become work. Then you'll feel that work is play, and play is work, and play pubg or overwatch while drafting beside its window."
--
Q "Mahirap ba aralin?
A "Nope. My classmate made his own cabinet design for the first 5 minutes of opening the software. Think ms paint"
--
Q "I'm architecture student/drafting/busybusy, i have no time"
A "You don't look for time left. We all have the same hours spent each day. You allocate time. That is, if you wanna. 😃"
--
Q "baka manosebleed/headache ako. hirap na nga aralin tong other software"
A "yeah my only tip is: if you started, then feel stress, stop, watch a movie, eat, then get back. You don't use a hammer to hit your head, you use the hammer to hit the nail. And if that stresses you, you find ways to make the hammer land, if you can't afford a power tool. The software is meant to be enjoyed, not stress you. Remember, it's a tool that adjusts to you. You don't adjust to it. 🙂 #autodesk 😛"
--
Q "are you paid to advertise this group? why you sharing it?
A "nope. group is free. we share knowledge because we're few, and because a lot are asking." (And i think we're currently the largest sketchup group yet, from the promotions we made with sir lolit, hi vietnam friends).
--
Q "panget nman render"
A "eh, we're not after renders. we're after process, not product only. kinda the difference between design and art. Process>Product. I recommend Skp Pinoy Global or 3d Empire for 3d artists and Unreal & Blender for Game developers. so much more..
--
Q "why should i join the group?"
A " don't. haha, but if you keep asking, then do. you can post anything, i noticed the admin doesn't criticize the posts or keep giving suggestions to every render or work done. Just send love ❤ and if you ask, he responds. i guess it's just so chill that we become inactive even for months. haha. i have to go to the site now but i'm typing this. lol."
--
Q "So.. sketchup or revit?"
A "Upto you. get both. Autodesk is industry standard in many places, especially when you collaborate files between teams. But i saw a Thailand and Vietnam Architectural Firm that uses only sketchup and layout to share files and everyone can see the reference model in one screen."
--
Q "Specs ng pc. Hina nyan. When did u start?"
A "#Sketchup - 1st yr college just for fun in the campus media office. #Layout - first bldg permit drawing- Beneco. Then thesis and school magazine and when there was no microsoft powerpoint and word. Started with no mouse in the small netbook 2gb ram haha. It was fun. No headache. Health is wealth. More time for anime"
--
Q "Eh.. choose one"
A "Sketchup. It just feels like drawing, not editing properties. It's like dancing to the music, even if it's not fine art, but you could add photoshop there too.
--
Q "Any disadvantage?
A "Yeah. if you're a draftsman that gets paid per hour, baka malugi ka. Haha, cuz you're done before the day ends. Maybe don't show too much skill in the office, pretend you're working with the same hours of autocad if needed for the pay, but you know the company needs your fast service.
Q "Huh? Bakit di ipakita yung skills"
A "IPAPAGAWA LAHAT SAYO. LIBRE PA. anu ka, ironman. spend the free time for sideline, my arki told me i could when i was apprentice-ing, pakaen lang daw paminsan minsan. haha #gmsthanks. Stick with your contract.

Q "What was your original caption? Caption so long.. ranting ranting yaima otoke aigooo saram desu ka"
